What is Al Forno? Forno is Italian for oven. At Al Forno, they want to honor an ambiance reminiscent of a world gone, but not forgotten. At Al Forno, they recall the age-old tradition of baking pizza pies in an authentic wood-burning brick oven. Al Forno is a place for family and friends to gather over a light meal and soft music. Enjoy your meal.
Excellent pizza and solid salads.

Still waiting on food, but they pulled Bait & Switch on delivery time. Changed from 30-45 mins & after ordered confirmed switched to 60-75 mins.

This was my first time ordering here and it was the absolute worst experience I've had ordering takeout. After waiting an hour and half for my order, I called to get an update on when to expect my food. They put me on hold for 15 minutes and then the call was disconnected. I called back and was put on hold for another 10 minutes. After all that waiting they told me my food wasn't even cooked yet. I would have canceled the order but they told me I had to cancel through Seamless. Bottom line: horrible customer service and not worth the hassle! I would not recommend this place to anyone. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

Mediocre pizza, delivered as COLD pizza. Two blocks away. Go figure! First and last time.

Delicious food but they can be slow. They messed up my order and it was not delivered for over 2 hours.

We ordered pizza for me and the kids, and salmon for my wife. The food was late arriving - around 80 mins instead of 45-60. I had to call them and it took 5 mins to find the order which doesn't inspire confidence. When it got here everything was in the cold - slightly warm range. Shame, because when warmed up it tasted nice but I shouldn't have to do that and it meant the salmon then tasted over cooked. Although I like the food, think I will try another pizza place

SO good! But once again feeding the kids snacks instead of food because they underestimated delivery time by 20-40 minutes. If you call they say it's on the way, yeah, right. That was another 20 minutes ago.... pretzels anyone?

I ordered the penne al ferno and it was delicious. It arrived hot and was clean, super tasty, and met all my expectations.

So good! One of my favorite places on the UES, always fresh and love their crust. With this cold weather Seamless is a must to get my pizza fix... and stay warm in my apartment :)

The pizza arrived cold and the delivery man was very rude, he practically threw it at me.

Disgusting service. I order all the time and they often mess up my order but this was the last time. They never sent me an item and then told me they will not send it but will credit me then next time i ordered. The next time I ordered they actually lied to me and told me that even though my bill says $88 I will really be charged $78. They guaranteed when the statement on my credit card came it would say $78. When I called to tell them that that never happened the manager actually said to me that it is $9 and its not a big deal and I can take it up with seamless or get over it. Incredible.

The delivery time for this restaurant is terrible. Have waited for over an hour on several occasions. Would not order from here again as a result.

Delicious pizza & prompt delivery!

I have been trying to find an Italian restaurant on the UES that does penne ala vodka right, and I finally found one! They honored my request of making it without meat, and it was still hot and delicious! They also have quick delivery - it came faster than the delivery estimate!
Only downside - it's slightly more pricey than other Italian places in the area. But it's worth the money if you're craving some solid Italian! Portions are decently sized as well.

Ordered a pepperoni calzone and got a plain calzone. The food was hot and would've been pretty good had the order been correct.

Listed as 30-45 min wait and took 1.5 hours. Called to inquire and was given excuses rather than helpful customer service. very annoyed and in my view this is unacceptable. time to find a new pizza place

love this place, the chicken francese is amazing and consistent. good value as well

Fantastic pizza with real mozzarella, not the plasticky kind! Nice sauce - we do ask for it well done so the crust is crispy

LOVE this place, especially the chicken francese, it comes in the most amazing lemon/butter sauce. The linguine vongole is also one of my favorites and you can never go wrong with the pizza.

The food was good the delivery was awful. I got a small cheese pizza and it took an hour and 20 minutes to show up. Yes, it was snowing outside but it wasn't a blizzard by any means. When I called to ask about where my pizza was (the delivery estimate was 30-45 minutes), they told me the delivery had left 25 minutes ago. You know what that means? It was room temperature when it got here. The only reason it's getting 4 stars is because it tastes delicious and in the end that's what matters the most.

Nice thin crust with just the right amount of sauce and fresh mozzarella. Would have liked a few more fresh basil leaves, but otherwise excellent. Fast delivery too.

Pizza and pastas are good, but not great, and are very expensive. If you want a gourmet-style pizza, it is not a bad choice. However, there are many comparable shops in the area at similar prices. Overall, it is nothing special.
